Wearing a Maxi Dress in the Summer
Wearing a Maxi Dress in the Fall
A maxi dress is one of my go-to pieces for summer. It gets so incredibly hot (it was over a 100 degrees yesterday) here in Texas and nothing feels better on than a dress. Except maybe lounging by the pool in a swimsuit! You can switch up your accessories, shoes and handbags to get different looks. I also carry around a cardigan for places that keep their air conditioning down, to what feels like, 10 degrees.
For my summer maxi dress look, I wore hot pink accessories, a gorgeous purse in my favorite blue and black sandals with gold accents.
How do you transition a maxi dress into fall? I chose a denim jacket, chunkier accessories, a dark purple clutch and a pair of my leopard flats.
A few other ways you could style your maxi dress for fall includes:
- Wear a light sweater over it
- Wear a t-shirt under the maxi dress and layer with a long sleeve shirt
- Wear a button down shirt over it
- Wear ankle boots
- Pair it with a blazer
- Wear a military style jacket over it
- Wear a scarf
- Add in accessories with darker tones
Do you like to transition your maxi dresses to fall? If not, I hope I gave you some inspiration on how to wear a maxi dress this fall. Go for it, experiment with different outfit ideas and have fun!
