How I Stay Fit With Only 15 Minutes of Exercise Per Day

I’ve discovered that I need to start my day with exercise. If I don’t, I feel unaccomplished, lazy, and guilty that I never got my workout in. Anybody else feel that way too?

Pinpoint Your Motivations

Fitness is about more than looking my best. It’s about feeling great, building strength, maximizing energy, gaining confidence, and being the best me that I can be.

I don’t exercise to gain attention from my husband, my kids, my friends or strangers. I don’t exercise to be the best looking gal on my street. I don’t exercise to one-up my athletic friends. I exercise to feel good, get stronger, boost my energy, and to be the best person that I can be!

Ask yourself:

  • What’s your motivation to exercise? Discover this first before you begin planning your awesome fitness regime.
  • The root of your motivation, when planted in healthy places, will help you stay the course for the long-haul.

Regular Exercise

Last year I declared that I would exercise more regularly. What does regular mean? I was debating between 3 times per week for 30-45 minutes, or 6 days per week at 15-30 minutes. We all know that life gets busy and schedules shift constantly. For ease of scheduling, I chose to workout 6 days per week. It’s consistent, habitual, and difficult to forget!

Suggestions: Exercise 15 minutes per day, 6 days per week. Exercise 30 minutes per day, 6 days per week. Exercise 1 hour, 2 days per week.

Ask yourself:

  • What does regular exercise look like to you?
  • How often can you reasonably to exercise? Consider your family, job, priorities, and life schedule.
  • Where can you fit fitness into your schedule?

Location and Equipment

I’m not a fan of having to drive to a gym to exercise. Then I feel the need to have cute athletic clothes, some makeup on my face, and a bag of drinks and snacks. I opted to exercise in my living room. (To all the moms out there, I have a feeling you may relate to the convenience of your own living room!)

I have a small closet of equipment: various dumbbells, an exercise ball, a yoga mat, ankle weights, fitness bands, foam rollers, and a few other miscellaneous items (like a treadmill, road bike, etc.). I can literally hop out of bed, put on my workout clothes and start exercising in my living room. No presentable clothes and makeup required.

Ask yourself:

  • Do you have some exercise equipment?
  • Would you be willing to purchase a few small items, like a yoga mat and weights?
  • Do you prefer to workout in a group setting like a gym?
  • Can you afford a gym membership fee?
  • Does the gym provide childcare?

What Do I Do? Tone It Up.

I’ve been interested in fitness for years, so I knew plenty of exercises that I could do. Yet everyday I would find myself wasting time wondering, “What workout should I do? Cardo, HIIT, arms, legs, abs, glutes, etc.? Should I watch a video, follow a guide, or make it up as I go?”

I was tired of wasting time and tired of feeling worn (mentally) out before I even began to move. That’s when I discovered Tone It Up.

Tone It Up presents free daily moves that take 15-25 minutes to complete. Perfect timing!

It lays out a program that equally incorporates cardio, HIIT, arms, legs and core strength. Awesome!

It tells me exactly what to do everyday. Score!

I can access it through their app. Convenience!

How I Use Tone It Up

I’ve been completing the Tone It Up daily moves for nearly 1 year. I feel leaner, more muscular, firmer, and more tone. My husband has even commented that he can see my muscle tone and has noticed an increase in my fitness endurance.

I appreciate that my exercises are planned out, all I need to do is follow their instructions.

I get a full-body workout by doing the program 6 days per week.

The moves are easy to do with my at-home equipment.

If I’m feeling up to it, I can repeat the daily moves for additional time working out.

Each week is different so I don’t get bored with the same Monday morning exercise. They have a large pool of exercises that they pull from so I don’t even do the exact same move every week. For example, the program probably includes push-ups every 2 weeks, but push-ups are incorporated into various plank positions.

Did I mention that it’s free?

How You Can Be Fit In 15 Minutes Per Day!

The answer is so simple that it feels like a joke. Take 15 minutes a day to complete the Tone It Up daily moves. I’m not compensated for recommending Tone It Up. I just follow their free program and absolutely love it! I’ve seen it transform my body and I know it can do the same for you.

Not sure where to get started? Discover how I get out of bed and exercise first thing every morning. Start there, combine it with the Tone It Up daily moves and see how your body transforms, your energy lifts, and your life improves!
