At the end of December, I told you I was testing out Cindy Crawford’s skin care line Meaningful Beauty and that I would report back to you on my results after some time. Well, that time is today!
(Side note: I received one of the best compliments recently on my skin, which I’ll share with you at the end of this post. It made my day. 😉 )
I started to notice my skin aging in my late 30s and since the day I hit 40 (last August), I swear my skin decided to mix things up a bit and make life more interesting. Interesting meaning waking up with a new wrinkle everyday, plus, let’s not leave out those dark spots!
I do feel like I’m handling this aging thing gracefully and I know with each decade comes new skin dilemmas. But if I have it in my ability to feed my skin what it needs so I can hold on to that youthful glow a little bit longer, by gosh I’m going to do it.
I did not take care of my skin my teen years or when I was a young adult. From going to bed with makeup on, eating absolute junk and switching my skin routine up constantly, I’ve had some serious damage to reverse and some work to do.
Here are a few things I’ve learned over the years of taking care of my skin and how Meaningful Beauty fits in with those needs perfectly.
Going to bed with makeup on is one of the worst things you can do to your skin.
When it comes to taking care of my skin, I need a system that is low maintenance. I don’t like to spend much time getting ready for bed because, well, I’m tired! I love love love (yes, that’s 3 loves) the Meaningful Beauty cleanser for a number of reasons: it’s incredibly light and gentle, I can use it with or without water and it has a very light gentle smell.
Using a moisturizer with sunscreen is crucial.
I was a late bloomer I feel like when it comes to using sunscreen every morning. I always thought my foundation was all I needed, but after doing some research, I found out I was wrong. The Meaningful Beauty day creme has SPF 20 and works beautifully under makeup. I’ve had some moisturizers pill up under my foundation, which doesn’t make for such a great look.
It’s important to keep the under eye area moisturized.
The day I started using an eye cream was the day I never looked back to not moisturizing that delicate area ever again. My under eye wrinkles are intensifying, as are my dark circles, so taking care of that eye area is incredibly important. When it’s not moisturized, my makeup gets into the creases and it looks pretty awful. But since I’ve been using an eye cream day and night, I have noticed a dramatic difference. The Meaningful Beauty Lifting Eye Creme helps to lift and firm, and keeps the eye are moisturized.
It’s important not to forget about your neck and decollete.
This is something new I started doing using with the Meaningful Beauty line. The Skin Brightening Decollete and Neck Treatment is absolutely amazing. You apply it daily in the morning and it protects that area from the sun with its SPF 15 and keeps it moisturized – two key pieces for taking care of that delicate skin area.
Now, a little drum roll please for my favorite product out of the entire Meaningful Beauty line…
You ready?
It’s the Wrinkle Smoothing Capsules that are like little skin helping genies in a bottle, er, capsules. Honestly, at first I wasn’t sure if these made a difference, but after viewing my skin nice and close (should have taken a picture!) on two different days, I could see a difference. On the day I used the capsule, my foundation went on smoother and my skin had a really nice texture. I only have one of these babies left, so I will have to order more asap.
My overall thoughts and results
You want to know if Meaningful Beauty works right? Right. I can say, that for me personally, it does. They claim it helps skin appear radiant and youthful with ingredients designed to moisturize, protect, hydrate and rejuvenate.
It does.
Remember that compliment I received? It was from a young girl who couldn’t believe I was 40 and had kids. She said, ‘but her skin is so beautiful!’. (To my friend who shared that with me…you made my day.)
I believe my skin looks better than ever because of a few factors: my diet is WAY better than it used to be, I excercise several times a week and I’m using skin care that works for me, not against like so many do.
