Back to School: BackPack Edition

We are just a little over two weeks away from school starting. I absolutely can not believe it! It’s crunch time for back to school shopping and getting the kids all ready to go.

Our middle child went to what’s called Raider Camp last night at the High School he’ll be attending to get him acclimated to High School. He received his schedule, met some other students, toured the massive school and over all said he had a good time. It lasted from 3:30 until 8 pm. Wow! Does your local school do this for your new students? I thought it was a great idea and hopefully the incoming freshman will feel a little less overwhelmed on their first day.

A couple of nights ago I had the kids all pick out their backpacks. I had them go with Amazon because, well, I had an Amazon code. 🙂 Would you like to see what they picked out? After what felt like hours. Seriously, I think it was a couple of hours…here’s what they chose.

Our 9 year old son went with this….

Adidas Alliance Sackpack

Adidas Alliance Sackpack

He went with a small one like this for several reasons. He’s in 4th grade and doesn’t have a lot to carry. His locker is small and it’s hard to fit a large backpack in it. He thinks this backpack is cool. He’s a huge fan of Adidas anything. It’s easy to carry.

Our 9th grade son went with this one…

DAKINE Outpost 21L (Granite)

Dakine Backpack

Last year he had an Element Backpack, which he really liked, but he wanted to go with a completely different look this year. After reading through several different reviews and watching a couple of YouTube videos on this backpack, he decided he liked what this one had to offer. And did you know in Hawaiian slang, “Da Kine” means the best? Yep, that’s pretty cool.

This backpack has several inside compartments and even an iPad sleeve.

Our 10th grade daughter went with this one…

Dakine Women’s Hana Backpack, Juno, 26-Liter

Dakine Hana Backpack

Apparently the Dakine Backpacks won over our older two. 🙂 We’ll see how they hold up throughout the year. She went with this one because of the design, the water bottle pocket and the comfy looking straps.  (She has back issues – thank you marching band and that fall down the stairs.)

What backpacks did your kids choose this year? Or did they use the same ones from last year? Let me know in the comment section below!
