My friend Andrea, over at Momma In Flip Flops, mentioned this Berkshires Coat in Peacock from J. Jill to me last month. She had a feeling I would like it and she was right! She herself has one and it looks absolutely stunning on her. If it wasn’t for her suggestion, I probably would have gone with a more neutral color. I am so glad I didn’t because just look at it!
This button front coat is so incredibly soft, features flattering princess seams and a stand collar (that I didn’t do very good at standing). Not only does it come in this gorgeous peacock color, but also cranberry, beechwood and black. I am wearing a small, which I typically wear in outerwear, but I would recommend going a size down in this coat. The small fits well but an XS would have been just perfect. Luckily if outerwear is a tad bit on the big size, it’s usually not that big of a deal.
I like how you can wear this coat with something dressy, or a little more casual like I did. Although, my suede over the knee boots, also from J. Jill, puts this outfit just outside that casual zone. I was hesitant to order these, because they’re a little out of my comfort zone. But I’ve seen so many of my other fashion blogging friends wearing them, loving them, and looking amazing in them, that I decided to give them a try. What do I think? I think I feel like a million bucks!
