Cherry Dump Cake Recipe

A warm, sweet and cherry filled dessert perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans cherry pie filling
  • 1 white cake mix
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • pecans optional
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  • 2. Dump the 2 cans of cherry pie filling on the bottom of a 9x13 pan and spread out
  • 3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the cherry pie filling and spread out evenly
  • 4. Slice the butter into little pieces and lay them close together on top of the white cake mix
  • 5. If using pecans, sprinkle the pecans on top of the butter
  • Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 - 45 minutes, or until top is slightly brown and cherry filling is bubbly
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

Notes

This dessert is best served warm. Speaking from years and years of experience, it's just as good warmed up.
